Deaf Zoo Day is normally held each spring, but it was worth waiting for DZD 2020! The Zoo expo, planned for May 2020, was postponed until October because of coronavirus pandemic concerns.

Hearing Speech + Deaf Center hosted a crowd of more than 200 at its annual Deaf Zoo Day at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden on October 4.

ASL interpreters were available to accommodate the communication needs of deaf and hard of hearing animal lovers when the Zoo’s staff displayed animals to the crowds. The Charles H Dater Foundation sponsored DZD 2020.

Hearing Speech + Deaf Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit empowering communication equity in Greater Cincinnati since 1925 with treatment and services to aid individuals with hearing and speech-language communication disorders or deafness.

The Charles H. Dater Foundation sponsored DZD 2020.
