Some musicians would relish being compared to Beethoven, but Huey Lewis might wish that comparisons of him to one of the greatest composers didn’t come to mind. Lewis, who wrote and produced the song “The Power of Love” that propelled his band Huey Lewis and The News to pop stardom, has confronted hearing loss since his early 30s. Beethoven’s deafness first affected him at about the same age.
