The Hearing Speech + Deaf Center of Greater Cincinnati, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals and families through inclusive communication services, proudly announces the appointment of Kevin Potts, MSC, as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 2, 2025.
Kevin brings more than two decades of leadership experience in healthcare, disability services and community-based programming to his new role. He most recently served as Executive Director at Sonida Senior Living, where he managed a flagship community of 203 apartments, achieved consistently high occupancy rates and exceeded key financial benchmarks. Under his leadership, the community became a national model for inclusive employment initiatives by partnering with organizations such as IKRON and Easter Seals to provide opportunities for adults with special needs.
Prior to Sonida, Kevin was Executive Director at Ken Anderson Alliance Cincinnati, where he led the organization’s expansion from serving 100 individuals to more than 400. He developed and licensed multiple new programs, launched workforce development microenterprises, and implemented the organization’s first strategic growth plan. His work consistently demonstrated a commitment to inclusion, staff retention, and measurable outcomes—all qualities that align closely with the Hearing Speech + Deaf Center’s mission.
“I am honored to lead the Hearing Speech + Deaf Center as we advance our mission,” Kevin said. “The HSDC team is outstanding, and I am excited to help them expand their reach and usher the organization into an exciting new chapter of service and impact.”
The Hearing Speech + Deaf Center’s services include speech and occupational therapy, audiology including hearing aid and cochlear implant services, American Sign Language interpreting and Deaf community programs such as job coaching and community events. With locations in Clifton, Eastgate and West Chester, the organization is uniquely positioned to serve diverse populations across Greater Cincinnati. Notably, the Hearing Speech + Deaf Center accepts nearly all insurance carriers —including Ohio Medicaid —ensuring equitable access to care for all.
Kevin’s extensive background in disability services, program development and community collaboration makes him an exceptional fit for the Hearing Speech + Deaf Center at a pivotal moment in its growth. His proven leadership in both nonprofit and healthcare sectors reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to advocacy, excellence and inclusion.
“The Board is extremely excited to have Kevin join the Hearing Speech + Deaf Center as its next CEO,” said Board Chair Robert Shank. “He will be a consummate leader with the background, skill set and personality to lead the organization to even greater and more expansive ways for the Hearing Speech + Deaf Center to serve as many individuals and families as possible with communication-related needs.”
The Board of Directors extends its deep gratitude to Sally Quilligan, who has served as Interim CEO since November 2024 and will now resume her role as Director of Operations.
“Sally was a star when she was the Director of Operations for the Hearing Speech + Deaf Center. I cannot overstate the praise the Board has for Sally for the job that she has done as Interim CEO for most of the last year,” Robert said. “She led the Hearing Speech + Deaf Center through this critical transition time period between CEOs, in a year that marks the 100th year of the Hearing Speech + Deaf Center. And she did so impeccably, displaying all the competencies of a permanent chief executive while always handling issues with the calmness and grace that are central to Sally’s work style to those who know her. She was the quintessential interim CEO for the Hearing Speech + Deaf Center. The Board is extremely grateful to Sally and is glad that she will remain in a leadership role as Director of Operations.”
