C-Print Captioning Services
C-Print is a speech-to-text service that projects captions in real-time. By projecting speech-to-text in real-time, spoken communication is more accessible to individuals who are Deaf, experience hearing loss, or who have low vision.
C-Print may be used in:
- Educational settings
- Business meetings or conferences
- Medical appointments
- Classes and lectures
- Events and community gatherings
- Any setting where an individual or group requires the ability to read spoken communication
How does It Work?
- The C-Print captionist may provide services on-site or remotely.
- The C-Print captionist listens and simultaneously types lecture or meeting content into their specialized software, which produces a text version of the spoken information in real-time.
- This text can be projected on a screen, or computer or mobile device.
- C-Print is content-based (similar to a sign language interpreter) rather than verbatim (like a court reporter).
- C-Print is a concise and thorough translation of spoken English content. It includes as much of the conversation as possible, rather than a word-for-word transcription. It is easy to read and follow.
- After the presentation, a transcript may be provided (Braille transcripts are also available). This is an excellent way to compile study materials or create meeting minutes.
Who may benefit from C-Print Services?
C-Print may accommodate individuals of all ages, including those who:
- Are Deaf, hard of hearing, or experience hearing loss
- Are visually impaired and may benefit from enlarged or colored text
- Prefer written communication over verbal communication
